13 April : That Old Chestnut pres Auntie Flo @ The Globe, Newcastle

The first of our Chestnut parties this year takes us back to the Globe where we have invited Auntie Flo to come and Dj for us. After listening to many of his mixes and records it was hard not to book this guy to come to the northeast.

Last week the lovely We Love lot uploaded a mix I have done, as I do every year, of alot of music I’ve enjoyed at vairous stages throughout the summer. You can visit this post here. Jem Haynes, Ian Blevins – Second Line EP [Colour Series]

At the beginning of Summer 2011, Jem Haynes moved to the flat directly above me. This was soon the beginning of regular coffee’s and music making sessions. After getting involved in a series called Treme, our Second Line guise was born as we sought inspiration in a lot of the songs, drums and rhythms from the music in the series for an EP.

Over a year and a half has gone by and in that time has seen these tracks tested around the globe, including We Love at Ministry of sound and Space in Ibiza where they have worked to full effect on a weekly basis. This debut EP is also the first release on Jem Haynes new Colour Series label. More music is in the pipeline currently from ourselves, Jem and Mike Peters. Ian Blevins live from Space Terrace for We Love – 23/09/2012

Here is the first two hours of my set at We Love this summing on the terrace. Had huge fun being back in that room again and was glad to be leaving it full when I finished. Following myself was Technasia, James Zabiela and Groove Armada. Not bad company to be in.

That Old Chestnut presents Greymatter @ The Kitchen 10.11.12

After an excellent birthday bash at the Globe with Mano Le Tough and Butterside Up we hosting our first event at the Ktichen at the second time of asking. Travelling up we have Greymatter from the ever impressive Wolf Music stable who’s been on fire of late. Alongside ourselves we have asked Liam Vance, Kris Berry and ladys favourites RuDog Billionaire and BigL to hold down our cosy second room.
